#3 - Understanding AI’s Role in Aging
Artificial Intelligence is quietly and profoundly shaping the experience of aging. While much recent attention has focused on Generative AI such as ChatGPT or image generators, the broader field of AI includes tools that support health monitoring, fraud detection, adaptive learning, accessibility, and more.
This one-pager offers a concise overview of how AI technologies, both generative and non-generative, are already influencing the daily lives of older adults. It is designed for professionals such as Certified Senior Advisors, caregivers, and community educators. The document outlines five key ways AI can promote independence, safety, and cognitive resilience. It also offers practical strategies for addressing common barriers such as trust, usability, and privacy concerns.
This resource is part of a larger conversation. In early August, I will offer a focused session for a 55+ learning community titled "Prompting for Generative AI." That session will explore how to use large language models effectively. This one-pager steps back to explore the bigger picture. Understanding AI’s broader role in aging is just as important.
