I am so excited to follow this thoughtful series - most especially because the focus is on social connection and communication people to people, and especially because teaching or using these tools for aging well shows that there are practical ways to be inclusive for this population. Enjoying reading and thinking more about these points.

Thanks Liz. I just did a general introduction to GenAI for a 55+ group last week. Almost half of the audience had use GenAI and I assume the other half was at least interested otherwise they would not have come. There is a certain amount of skepticism and the audience members raised valid concerns. I see my task as a combination of increasing awareness of both possibilities and challenges and highlighting applications specifically meant for that 55+ group that went into retirement life without ever experiencing GenAI in their workplace. Ultimately, I want to facilitate hands-on workshops so that the audience goes from skepticism and questions to guided practical experience.

I've often thought about taking that approach too. Now it is much more focused because of your specific applications and use cases. After reading your post this morning, I started to think about how I might be able to specifically tie it to storytelling in that group - also thought too about inviting interested younger people to participate to bring both groups together to learn from one another. Very much on the same thread here.
